Obituary

Aaron Paul Powers, 15, loving son, brother, and friend to so many, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at St. Francis-Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born October 4, 1999, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Tony and Valerie Powers.

A student at Hutchinson High School, he not only was a drummer and saxophone player, but he had also a passion for the outdoors: fishing, hunting, camping. He loved riding his bike, trying new jumps on his skateboard, and mastering the art of riding a pogo stick. He was also an avid X-Box gamer.

He is survived by his mother, Valerie; 3 sisters: Tinesha, Tonya, and Kaitlyn Powers; maternal grandmother, Rowena Huff; and paternal grandparents, Grant and Bonnie Powers. He was preceded in death by his father, Tony, and maternal grandfather, Paul Huff.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, July 6, 2015, at 1:00 pm at the First Church of the Nazarene, 4290 N. Monroe, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family has established the Aaron Paul Powers Family Memorial Fund and gifts may be left in care of Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas.
