Alan Lee Horton was born in Seward Alaska on May 23, 1980, to Jerry Horton of Clay Center and Robin Ausherman of Abilene Kansas. Alan passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, in Abilene following an extensive fight from medical complications following surgery in 2025.
Alan was a proud member and voluntary fire fighter for Conway district 4 in McPherson County. He also worked as the assistant manager for O’Rielly’s in McPherson. Alan held many other positions throughout his life, most recently Siemens in Hutchinson and MKC Groveland and Marquette and everywhere he worked he made lifelong friends, Aaron Bailey (Katie) from MKC and Susie Rolf (Joe) from O’Rielly’s. Alans most prized possession was his service animal Hammy aka Hambone who is now being cared for by the Susie Rolf and the O'rielly family he cherished some much.
Alan is survived by his Father Charles Horton, a brother Charles Horton of Belville, his two children EmmaLee of Grants Pass Oregon, Aiden Horton of McPherson Kansas, two grandchildren that he cherished, Onyx Ray of Wichita and Emberlyn of Grants Pass, and numerous extended family members.
Alan is preceded in Death by his mother Robin Ausherman of Abilene and His Grandmother of Longford Kansas.
A celebration of life will be held at at later date.
