Alejandro ( Alex) Viegra, 94, died August 20, 2021 in Inman, Kansas.  Born February 26, 1927 in Garfield, Kansas to Pasqual and Basilia ( Chavez).  He married Sally Frias on November 17, 1956 in Springfield, Colorado.

He is survived by his children; Valerie ( Tim) Reeves of Nashua, NH, David Viegra, Rosalyn McGillivary of Hutchinson, Ks, Elizabeth Dauber of Vilas, CO.  seven grandchildren; Emily Wangler, Ben Wangler, Ashley Reeves, Travis Collins, Bret Collins, Julie Sumner, and Jason Herrman; and nine great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Frank Viegra of Hutchinson, Ks, Julia Casteneda of Lewis, Ks, Joe ( Sandra) Viegra of Larned, Ks, Benito ( Ardis) Viegra of LaCrosse, Ks, Frances Earegood of Larned, Ks, Ricardo ( MaryAnn) Viegra of Junction City, Ks.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers and sisters Sanjuana Castor, Bernadina Rickman, Adelaida Perez, Luz and Robert.

He was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad as a teletype operator.  After retiring from there he worked for USD 308 as a custodian.

He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus and the Santa Fe Breakfast Club.

Rosary will be on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Interment following at Fairlawn Burial Park in Hutchinson.
