Alfred Lee "Al" Cross, 76, passed away April 29, 2017 surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home in Hutchinson, Kansas. The son of Andrew and Pearl Cross, he was born in Anderson, Missouri April 12, 1941. He retired from Eaton Corporation after 38 years of dedicated service.
He loved spending time fishing, telling stories, piddlin'' in the garage, and, listening to 50''s, 60''s, 70''s music. He was a member of the Salt City Cruisers and thoroughly enjoyed spending time at car shows.
On April 15, 1961 he married the love of his life, Wilma Lee Metzler, in Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives.
Other survivors include 1 son, Alfred Lee (Fred) Cross, Jr. and his wife Terri; 2 daughters Teresa VonHemel and Estella (Rafe'') Davis; 4 brothers, Lloyd (Karen), Billy Joe (Sandy), Robert, Steven (Sybil) Cross; 3 sisters, Thelma Holcomb, Bonnie Ingle, Patti Robbins; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Jeannie Robbins, and 1 great granddaughter, Myka Roddy.
A graveside celebration of life will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Fairlawn Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Reno County and left in care of Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas.
