Bobbie Gale Miller, 88, passed away peacefully holding the hand of his oldest son Shaun on Saturday, December 14, 2024 in Hutchinson, KS.  In the days before his passing, he was surrounded by loved ones singing hymns, reciting Bible verses, retelling stories, and sharing how very much they loved him.

Bobbie Gale Miller was born December 13th, 1936 in Dodge City, KS to Afton and Alma (Harrell) Miller and spent his childhood in Ensign, KS.  He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerry Miller, and daughter Janet Miller.  Bob is survived by three sons and their wives, Shaun and Kimberly Miller of Nickerson, Jon and Peggy Miller of Arkansas, Cody and Jenny Miller of Tenessee; one daughter Shari Miller Merrit of Florida; eight grandchildren; Bryce and his wife Kaylee Miller and their children Lucy, Brynlee, Avery, Rylynn, and Lincoln of Oregon. Kayla and her husband Tyson Thrall and their children Titus, James, and Adrienne of Hutchinson, KS.  Miranda Miller, Lane and his wife Haley Miller and their sons Jaxson and Greyson of Tennessee, Kelly Foster, Ella Merritt, Eisley Merritt, and Edison Merritt.

Bob graduated from Ensign High School and went on to attend Dodge City Community College.  He wore many hats, (quite literally), throughout his professional life from race car driver to real estate agent, but his passion was in the country side as a rancher.  For years, he lived his dream in Medicine Lodge where he owned property encompassing the historic Twin Peaks and Two Buttes and operating several hundred head of cattle and many, many horses, (which he affectionately named "broom tails").  Beyond his love for ranching, his most treasured titles were "Dad",  "Grandpa", and "Great Daddy Bob."  He was fiercely cherished by his grandchildren and great grandchildren who genuinely enjoyed regular phone calls and visits with him, and were even inspired to write songs in his honor.

Those who knew Bob will remember him for his infectious smile and overwhelming laughter.  He was a master story teller who would leave listeners in stitches as they listened to him recount tales from his life. He had a rare gift for making others smile, laugh, and feel truly seen leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.  He was a dedicated Chiefs fan, NASCAR lover, and a passionate Trump supporter.

Bob was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by laughter, playfulness, friendship and good old hard work. Though overwhelmed with joy because Bob is home with Jesus, his passing has left an unfillable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.  Some of Bob's last words to his family were, "Follow the good Lord, but don't mess with him! I'm awfully proud of all of you. I love you and I'll see you on the other side." The Celebration of Life service to honor Bob will be this Thursday December 19th at 10am.  It will be held at Hutchinson Wesleyan Church, 528 W 10th Ave, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
