Carolyn Sue Stansfield, 75, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Born on February 11, 1951, in Allegan, Michigan, Carolyn was the eldest of eight children. She spent many years working in the casino industry in West Wendover, Reno, and Mesquite, Nevada, where her career included dealing blackjack and working in payroll.

An avid reader, Carolyn loved getting lost in a good book. She also enjoyed cross-stitching in her spare time. In retirement, she took pleasure in watching her favorite reality television shows, playing games on her tablet, and attending the Blue Stem Pace Community Center.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Thomas J. Sweeney Jr. (Heather), Dawn M. Hancock (Jared), Therese M. Bates (Randy), and Sabrina M. Badgett (Colby); her siblings, Don Wells (Glenda), Lizabeth Manzer, Neil Wells (Dora), Bruce Wells (Cheryl), Jayne Self (Richard), and Rita Wells.

She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Alisa, Erin, Michelle, Jherl, Gregg, Randall, Sarah, Jewell, Alexus, Daryn, Emily, James, and Tommy; 19 great-grandchildren; and three more great-grandchildren on the way. Countless nieces, nephews friends and loved ones.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Donna Wells; her sister, Sally J. Flint; her beloved son, Timothy J. Sweeney; her granddaughter, Paige L. Sharp; and her partner, Jack Greening.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in West Wendover, Nevada.
