Charlie Junior Giles, 86, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away December 18, 2019, surrounded by his loving family at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson, Kansas.  The son of Charlie E. and Mary Giles, he was born January 28, 1933, in Rover, Missouri.  He was a retired telephone construction agent for Zolman Construction.

A veteran of the United States Army, he also served his country during the Korean War.  In addition to his employment with Zolman Construction, he served on the Clay Township board as treasurer.  A member of Eastwood Church of Christ, all Charlie knew was to work hard and take care of his family.

He married Glenda Carol Smith on March 13, 2007, in Hutchinson, Kansas.  She survives of the home.

Survivors include: three sons; three daughters; twelve grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; four daughters; and one granddaughter.

A gathering for family and friends will be held Sunday, December 22, 2019, from 1-5 p.m. at Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main Street, Hutchinson, Kansas.

A celebration of life will take place Monday, December 23, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Plum, Hutchinson, Kansas.

Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, Kansas with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Reno County or Eastwood Church of Christ and left in care of the funeral home.
