Chela (Connie) Ruiz Juarez, 83, passed away at her home September 25, 2015. The daughter of Emidio and Juana Ruiz, she was born in Ellinwood, Kansas on October 22, 1931. She was a loving homemaker to her family.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in South Hutchinson, Kansas, and had a keen eye for garage sales. Caring for her family was her driving force.
On June 1, 1965 she married Joe Juarez in Hutchinson, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include 2 sons, Carlos M. Zizumbo (Beverly) of Salina, Kansas; Kevin Juarez (Denine) of Hutchinson, Kansas; 1 daughter, Linda Juarez of Denver, Colorado; 1 sister, Raphialia McQueen of Hutchinson, Kansas; 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carlos Zizumbo, 2 sons, Jimmie D. Hunt, Manuel E. Zizumbo, and 3 brothers, Manuel, Michael, Pete Ruiz.
A public gathering for family and friends will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. A celebration of life shall be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 with Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by service at 10:30 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in South Hutchinson, Kansas with Father Ned Blick presiding. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial with the Reno County Cancer Council. Gifts may be left in care of the funeral home.
