Clyde Elver Gregg, 66, went home to Jesus on September 28, 2020 at his home in Hutchinson, Kansas.  He was born October 12, 1953 in Xenia, Kansas, the son of Archie and Alberta Gregg.  He was the last of eight children.

He attended Special Education classes offered at Mapleton Grade School until he was 13.  He remained on the family farm until 1989 when he went to live with his sister and her family in Manhattan, Kansas.  There his world was expanded by Big Lakes Training Center.  He was ecstatic to be with his peers again!  He participated in many activities offered by the Manhattan Recreation Department.  He learned how to bowl and won several gold and silver medals from competitions.  He also loved to dance.

In 2000, he was enrolled in TECH in Hutchinson, Kansas.  Even when he was not feeling well he wanted to go to "work".  It was at TECH that he met the Moore family, and they introduced him to WWE wrestling.  He and Chris spent many Monday nights in the basement cheering for their favorite wrestlers.  Chris led Clyde to First Southern Baptist Church, where he learned more about Jesus through the teachers in the Special Education Sunday School Class.

Clyde is survived by 1 brother, 3 sisters, 3 sister in laws, 2 brother in laws,  and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews- who all have wonderful memories of their Uncle Clyde.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 older brothers, and 2 nephews.

As a family we offer many thanks to the staff at Baldwin House.  Their love and kindness is appreciated more than they will ever know.  Clyde was greatly loved and a blessing to all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, October 2, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Roy Jaye presiding, at Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, 528 North Main Street, Hutchinson, Kansas.
