David Archil Cyr, Sr., 60, passed away July 24, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family in South Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born August 21, 1956 in Elkhart, Kansas, the son of Ruth Knoblock and Archil Eugene Cyr.

Growing up he attended Nickerson schools and was employed by Collins Industry for over 35 years. He loved playing his guitars, flying planes, and going camping and hunting with his family.

On April 1, 1984 he married the love of his life, Janice Pattinson in Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives.

Other survivors include 3 sons, David Cyr, Jr., James Pattinson, Joseph Pattinson; 3 daughters, Shawna Cyr-Clark (Donald), Katherine Pattinson, Anita (George) Stringos; 2 sisters, Anita Ankerholz and CJ Collinsworth, 2 brothers, Randy Vandervort and Doug Cyr; 20 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, stepfather, Glen Knoblach, stepmother, Joyce Cyr, 2 sisters, Candy, Virginia, 1 brother, Bruce, 3 grandchildren, and, 1 great grandchild.

A gathering for friends and family will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Reno County Cancer Council and left in care of the funeral home.
