David Eugene Pounds, 57, passed away at his home in Hutchinson, Kansas on March 11, 2022.  He was born in McPherson, Kansas on June 17, 1964 to Donald Pounds and Jessie ( Moralez) Frost.

David attended Hutchinson High School, most of his work career was in construction and he loved to build bridges.

He enjoyed rock & roll music, playing his guitar, cooking out on the grill, taking care of his yard.  He loved to tan.  He loved the outdoors.  In his younger days, karate was his passion.  David loved to travel to karate tournaments and won many trophies.  He was known to make others laugh, he was the life of the party.  David was genuinely free spirited.

Survivors include:  partner, Angela Espinoza; children, Tasia Pounds, Heather ( Pounds) Thomas, Cory Pounds, Ashley Jimenez, Samantha King, Paige Sheppard; stepchildren, Amber Eaglin, Quarte Cox; 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Donald G. Pounds, Jessie ( Moralez) Frost, stepson, John Cox; grandparents. aunts, and uncles.

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of David's life will be held at the Home Builders Shelter in Carey Park, Hutchinson, Kansas on June 12, 2022 at 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
