David J. Wakefield, 55, passed away on August 21, 2025, in Hutchinson, Kansas. Born August 5, 1970, in Hutchinson to Don and Edith Wakefield.

David enjoyed rebuilding trucks, loved BBQing and smoking foods, fishing, going to the races, mud races, monster trucks, car shows and camping.

He is survived by his mother Edith Wakefield, his daughters Ashley (Jesse) Baker, Bobbie Edwards, Melissa Carr, his son John (Rissa) Pritchard, his grandchildren, Skyler Wakefield, Dalton Wakefield-Bake, Jaxon Baker, Payton Wakefield, Ty Edwards, Dallas Carr, Nicolas Pritchard, Maddilyn Pritchard, Sateevah Pritchard, IndayKah-Jai Pritchard, his niece Carmen (Clint) Willie and children, his nephews Codey (Natalie) Wakefield and children, Christopher (Jennifer) Espinosa and children and his sister Bobbie Szekely.

David is preceded in death by his father Don Wakefield, brother Joe Wakefield and infant brother Donald Wayne.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
