David Lee Wingert, 81, passed away September 5, 2018 at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born June 19, 1937 in Dodge City, Kansas, the son of Ray and Gladys Johnston Wingert. He was a retired maintenance worker for the Hutchinson Mall.
He is survived by a sister, Patricia Chalmers; his caregiver, Jolene Wingert; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Fowler Wingert, his parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
A gathering for friends and family will be held today, Friday, September 7, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Old Mission – Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. Cremation will follow and a private family graveside inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the South Hutchinson Methodist Church, of which David was a member, and left in care of the funeral home.
