Debra (Dee Dee) Diane Kensley-71 yrs, died Tuesday, March 5 in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born in Hutchinson, KS to Lloyd Phinney and Thelma Francis Boom (Phinney). Debra was a long-time resident of the Hutchinson community. She was a graduate from Hutchinson High School.
On December 23, 1974, she married Tommie Joe Kensley in Hutchinson, KS. They were able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary together.
Debra devoted her time to being a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved having her family around all the time. She liked going to the movies and traveling. She also had a passion for Elvis Presley music.
Debra worked over the years at Cessna Hydraulics as a machinist and at Underground Vaults and Storage as a storage clerk.
Debra is survived by her husband Tommie Joe Kensley, sister Vickie Frank (Phinney) and brother Clayton Phinney, her son Jason Kensley, grandson Isaac McIver, granddaughter Ariel Kensley, grandson Blade Kensley, and granddaughter Kyla Kensley. 6 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will be receiving visitors on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 5 pm-9 pm at Old Mission Heritage Funeral Home. There will be a grave side service on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 10 am at Fairlawn Burial Park in Hutchinson, Kansas.
