Obituary

Delwin Eugene Lumpkins, 61, passed away peacefully at his home November 8, 2013. The son of Delwin Ernest and Ramona Elizabeth Lumpkins, he was born on January 28, 1952 in Lyons, Kansas.

A veteran of the United States Army, he served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. He was a master plumber by profession; however his passion was Nascar and motorcycles. He could fix anything with handlebars, steering wheel, or, gas pedal and do so while listening to his favorite band, Pink Floyd. He never encountered a stranger and will be missed by his family and hundreds of friends.

He is survived by a son, Royce Don Smith of Hutchinson, Ks; a daughter, Leanna Lynnette Smith (Jonathan) of Aurora, Nebraska; 3 brothers, Lonnie, Dwight, and, Loren Lumpkins; 1 sister, Leanna Davis; 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and, a brother, Ron.

A public visitation will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00. Cremation has taken place.
