Dianna Hazell Jackson, 61, passed away at her home in The Colony, Texas, May 31, 2013. She was born November 19, 1951 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the daughter of Roger and Donna Hazell.
A graduate of Hutchinson High School, she loved to read, doing crochet work, listening to her favorite singer, Loretta Lynn, collecting smiley faces and cheering on her Kansas Jayhawks. She was a dedicated mother and housewife.
On March 7, 1973, she married William I. Jackson in Hutchinson, Kansas. He survives. Other survivors include 1 son, Johnnie Jackson, The Colony, Texas; 1 daughter, Kim Poindexter (Birtis) of Detroit, Michigan; 3 brothers, Stanley Hazell (Delores), Johnnie Hazell (Tammie), both of Hutchinson, Kansas, Allen Hazell (Toni) of Lewisville, Texas; 3 sisters. Vicki Scates, Cheryl Smith (David) both of Moundridge, Kansas; Terry Dodge (Russell) of Lewisville, Texas; 2 grandchildren, Vivica and Victoria Poindexter of Detroit, Michigan; 12 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Lone Star Cemetery, in Pretty Prairie, Kansas. There will be no public visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to be made out to the Dianna Hazell Jackson Family Memorial Fund and left in care of Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas.
