Donald Dean Clark, passed away March 22, 2017 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. A veteran of the United States Army, he was born in Protection, Kansas on May 15, 1933, the son of Jessie James Russell Clark and Nellie Smalley Clark. He was a sales representative for Davis - Childs Chevrolet, and developed his own sales firm, Chem - Mark of Kansas, until his retirement.
A graduate of Protection High School in 1951, he farmed after graduation until joining the service in 1955. He spent 18 months in Germany as a Military Policeman for the Army. Upon his honorable discharge in 1957 he worked various sales jobs. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a life member of the NRA, and, the Central Kansas Gun Club. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Post 68 American Legion, and a member of the Royal Order of the MOOSE since 1977.
On March 30, 1959 he married the love of his life, Carol Ann Stein at St. Teresa Catholic Church in Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives after 57 years of marriage.
Other survivors include a son Mark and his wife kim Clark; daughter, Teresa Clark; brother, Ray and wife Sandy Clark; sister Nellie Mae and husband Jack Flowers; 6 grandchildren, Sarah Clark, Katie and husband Jake Mattison, Ashley and husband Kyle Parker, Samantha Clark, Morgan Erickson; % great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Gene Clark.
A gathering for friends and family will be Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with a reading of the Rosary at 4:00 p.m., at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 north Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. A celebration of life Mass will be Monday, March 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 26th & Plum, Hutchinson, Kansas. Burial with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial and gifts may be made to the Carol A. Clark Family Fund, and gifts may be left in care of the funeral home.
