Donald E. Kienow, 74, earned his wings on July 22, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born May 8, 1943 in Ipswich, South Dakota to Ed and Dorothy Kienow.

On June 6, 1965 Don married the love of his life, Shirley Sidebottom, in Ensign, Kansas. Don was a retired truck driver for Rainbow/Sara Lee Bakery, retiring in 2005. He had a passion for his family and showed it often. He also enjoyed turning wrenches and spending time with his family at Cheney Lake.

Survivors include; his wife, Shirley, his children Doug (Stacey) Kienow, Cindy Kienow, Candie (Chris) Friesen; 6 grandchildren, Devon, Brooklyn, Christopher, and Brody Friesen, Bryan Kienow, Kami (Michael) Fleming; 1 great grandchild, Henry Friesen; 1 sister, Charlotte (Dennis) Volk.

A gathering will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to the Kienow Family Memorial fund in care of Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home.
