Dorothy Belle "Dottie" Nelson, 81, died Aug. 16, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born Dec. 14, 1929, to C.R. and Clemmie (Croker) Knight in Commanche, Texas. She formerly lived in Liberal, Tyrone, Okla. and Libby, Mont. She held many jobs in her lifetime, but was most proud of her career as a CNA working in nursing homes.
Survivors include: a son, R.L. "Jr." (Connie Jo) Kilgore, Abbyville; a daughter, Connie Sue (Willie) Love, Libby, Mont.; grandchildren, Robin Butts and Chad Horton, Hutchinson, Ryan Kilgore, Kalvesta, Joey Carroll, Libby, Mont., Lance and Dena Bowman, Cheyenne, Okla. and Kristi and Frank Russell, Amarillo, Texas; brothers, Loy (Bess) George and Tad Knight, Vernon, Texas; a sister, Pauline, Houston, Texas and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; a brother and her husbands, R.L. "Bud" Kilgore and Billy Joe Nelson.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will occur at a later date. Memorials may be made in her honor to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or The American Cancer Society. Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Hutchinson, is in charge of arrangements.
