Dorothy Jean Sims, 66, passed away October 24, 2016 at McPherson Hospital, McPherson, Kansas. She was born November 25, 1949 in Liberal, Kansas, the daughter of Billy and Roma Prater. She was a retired retail sales clerk.

She loved to work in her garden and was a devout reader. A member of Four Square Bible Church, she dedicated to volunteer work as well. Her main goal in life was to be a loving and caring mother to her family.

She is survived by three sons, Gabriel (Jennifer), Donald, and, Ryan Staley; 2 brothers Billy and Ricky Prater; 1 sister, Joyce Munson; and 2 grandchildren, Jace and Jewel Staley. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at Four Square Bible Church, 811 N. Ash, McPherson, Kansas 67460. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial and gifts may be made to Four Square Bible Church and left in care of the church.
