Douglas Thurman, 65, passed away at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, KS on February 15, 2025. He was born on July 3, 1959 in Lyons, KS to Elsie (Moore) and Howard Thurman. In 1981 Doug married Deborah Powell and together they raised four children. Doug worked in the oilfield before becoming disabled. He loved drag racing, motorcycles, and old western movies.

He is survived by his children, Aletha Grasle, Doug, Jessie, and James Thurman all of Lyons; his grandchildren Kirsten, Alyssa, Kinsley, Izaac, Kaylen, Landon, Emmalynn, Zyler, Bentlee, Maddyx, and Colter; his siblings: Vivian Bliss (John), Patsy Ramirez (Moe) of Lyons, Dori Prebble (Andy) of Sterling, and Joe Critchfield (Tina) of Alden; as well many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by Debbie, his parents, brothers Darrel and Leonard and sister Verna Bagby.

Memorial Service will be held at Old-Mission Heritage Funeral Home in Hutchinson, KS on Friday February 28th at 1:30 pm.
