Edna Marie Shumate, 74, passed away June 12, 2013, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born May 9, 1939, in Sleeper, Missouri, the daughter of James and Bertha Belle Webster.

A devoted mother and homemaker, she loved to play cards and paint. On September 17, 1961, she married Fred Shumate in Lebanon, Missouri. He died on July 2, 2007 in Hutchinson.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Ketchum; 3 daughters; Kimberly Shumate, Vicki Travis and Teresa Shumate; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.

There is no public visitation as cremation has taken place. The family has asked that memorial gifts be made to the Edna Marie Shumate family memorial fund and left in care of Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
