Esther Mabel Hesser, 98, passed away June 16, 2015 at Presbyterian Manor in Salina, Kansas. Born September 2, 1916 in McPherson, Kansas, she was the daughter of Bert and Vera Mitchell.

After graduating from McPherson High School in 1934, she attended the Wesley School of Nursing for three years and became a registered nurse. She enjoyed crafting and sewing, and taught Sunday school for years.

On June 7, 1951 she married Paul B. Hesser, and together they ministered churches throughout the Central Kansas region, including Salina and South Hutchinson. He preceded her in death November 11, 1993.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Vera Lu (Ray) Pollard and Sue (Larry) Gilliland; 1 son, Don (Cheryl) Hesser, 1 sister in law Virginia Mitchell; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and, friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother, 1 son, and, 1 daughter.

Per her request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Salina Heights Christian Church, 801 E. Cloud, Salina, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial gifts be made out to Salina Heights Christian Church, where Paul and Esther ministered for 14 years, and left in care of the church.
