Fern Lemler, 98, of South Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away April 20, 2019 surrounded by her family at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on November 17, 1920, the daughter of Fred and Rebecca Miller.
A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she always put the care of her family first. A member of Westside Baptist Church of Hutchinson, Kansas, she was a retired meat processor for Jackson Meats after 30 years of service. She loved spending time in the outdoors fishing and camping. Her family knew her as an animal lover – she loved ALL cats.
On July 12, 1946 she married Henry W. Lemler in Hutchinson, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2004.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Delores "Dee" (Stan) Hazell; 1 sister, Sue (Bob) Weiting 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 daughter, Darlene Bookout, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.
A gathering for family and friends will be held Friday, April 26, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Old Mission – Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. A celebration of life will take place Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church, 400 W. 12 th Street, Hutchinson, Kansas, with Pastor Tim Adrian presiding. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Boulevard, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Westside Baptist Church or Kindred Hospice and left in care of the funeral home.
