Floyd Douglas "Bud" Queen, 70, passed away surrounded by his loving family in the warmth of his home, December 20, 2014. A native of Hutchinson, Kansas, he was born September 3, 1944, the son of Floyd "Red" and Helen Queen. He was a retired hydraulic machinist for Cessna Hydraulics.
He was an avid outdoorsman with a special interest in hunting and fishing, and, had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He loved spending as much time as he could with his family and his friends.
He married Beth Summers in Hutchinson, Kansas on May 18, 2001. She survives. Other survivors include 4 brothers, Jerry (Joann), Corpus Christi, Texas, Glenn, Wadsworth, Texas, Robert (Beverly), Hutchinson, Kansas, Harold, Corpus Christi, Texas; 2 daughters, Michelle Queen, Kimberly Bates (Terry); 2 sons, Bryan Queen (Kim), S. Michael Summers (Tamera); 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and, a brother, Cary Paul in Vietnam, August 26, 1967.
Per his request cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Bud''s name to the Wounded Warrior Memorial and left in care of the funeral home.
