Garrie Hobert Moore, Jr, 94, passed away February 19, 2018 at Wesley Towers, Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. The son of Garrie H. Moore, Sr. and Mabel Willis Moore, he was born in Wherry, Kansas on May 19, 1923. He retired from Carey Salt after 34 years of service.

A veteran of World War II, he loved to spend time outdoors at his favorite fishing hole at the old Cessna Lease. He was known as the bicycle repairmen for all the neighborhood kids, and, loved to take time and just putter around with items that needed fixing.

He married Wanda Allen in Raton, New Mexico. She preceded him in death in July 2014.

Survivors include: 2 daughters, Lilah (Cliff) Betts, Lesa Harvey; 1 son Kenny (Keri) Moore; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 2 sisters, and their son, Kenny, Sr.

A gathering for friends and family will be Friday, February 23, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Fairlawn Mausoleum, 2401 Carey Boulevard, Hutchinson, Kansas with a celebration of life with military honors to follow at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wesley Towers or Hospice of Reno County and left in care of the funeral home.
