Gary Wayne Coon, 77, of Nickerson, Kansas,  passed away September 10, 2020 at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson, Kansas.  The son of Jasper and Mabel Coon, he was born in Winfield, Kansas on April 26, 1943.  He was a retired agriculture fabrication specialist.

In addition to his work as a fabrication specialist, he was an over the road truck driver, farmer, and machinist - to his family, he was known as a jack of all trades !

On December 22, 1962, he married the love of his life, Bonnita L. Foster, in Wichita, Kansas at Mt. Olive Christian Church.  She survives of the home.

Other survivors include: 3 sons, Troy ( Janice) Coon of Hutchinson, Kansas, Jeff ( Patty) Coon of McPherson, Kansas, Brad ( Melody) Coon of Niceville, Florida; 1 sister, Joann Wallace; 1 brother in law, Dennis ( Helen) Foster; 1 sister in law, Pamela Campbell; 8 grandchildren, Zach Coon, Thad ( Chelsi) Coon, Heidi ( Robert) Harrison, Deonis Coon,  Megan ( Tucker) Beck, Ethan Coon, Seth ( April ) Coon, Hannah ( fiance' Hunter) Coon; 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Marylou and Jane, 2 brothers in law, Lewis Wallace, and Gary Campbell.

Per his request, cremation has taken place and a family memorial service will take place at Kellogg Hall, 3391 East 20th Street South, Oxford, Kansas on September 26, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.  Family has requested to dress casual and a meal will be served.   Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Oxford, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice of Reno County, Hutchinson, Kansas, and may be left in care of Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, 528 North Main Street, Hutchinson, Kansas 67561
