Gary Alan Walters, 64, was surrounded by his family when he went home to be with the Lord, March 5th 2015 in Hutchinson, Kansas. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson he was born December 1, 1950, the son of Ira and Addie Walters. A veteran of the United States Navy, he was a retired security guard from the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.

On May 3, 1979 he married Christina McElheny in Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives; 1 son, Ross (Becky) Walters; 1 daughter Tawnie (Curtis) Copley; 2 grandsons, Tyler Branscom and Matthew Copley. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Cash Paulk, 3 brothers, Vernon, Darrell and Ira Walters, two nephews, Douglas and David Walters.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Westbrook Baptist Church - west campus, 2005 N. Hendricks, Hutchinson, Kansas with Pastor Victor Halfmoon presiding. A public gathering will be held at the home 720 W. 15th, Friday, March 13, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00pm. Floral gifts may be sent to the residence as well. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gary A. Walters Memorial Fund and left in care of Morton Credit Union, 121 Morton Drive, South Hutchinson, Kansas.
