Obituary

Holly Joan Goering, 86, went to be with Jesus November 3, 2015 at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson, Kansas. The daughter of Morris and Margaret Heald, she was born August 25, 1929 in Wells, Kansas. She was a teacher, bookkeeper, loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was a graduate of Minneapolis High School in Minneapolis, Kansas, and she attended Fort Hays State University and Emporia State Teachers College. Holly belonged to the Kansas State Teachers Association, was a member of the 10th Avenue United Methodist Church, and UMW. An artist, she loved to oil paint, was an avid gardener, and also was a seamstress. She loved to read and loved animals. A compassionate and generous woman, she poured herself into her children, grandchildren and great grand children and all of their activities.

On December 24, 1950 she married Vern V. Goering in Wells, Kansas. He survives of the home. Other survivors include, 2 sons, David John Goering, Douglas Gene (Diana) Goering; 2 daughters, Dr. Robin (Michael) Jackson, Sheri (Chuck) Brenner; 1 brother, Gerald (Sandy) Heald; 1 sister, Marilyn Farago; 7 grandchildren; Jacob Goering, Andrew Goering, Karl Goering, Barbara Goering, Douglas (Staci) Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Sarah (Aaron) Keller; 2 great grandchildren, Andrew Keller, and, Aubriana Keller. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter in law, Janice Goering, 1 sister, Janet Catlin, 1 brother, Steven Heald, and an infant daughter.

A gathering for friends and family will be Friday, November 6, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:30 am at Mount Olivet Worship Center, 18 17th Crestview, Hutchinson, Kansas with Pastor Aaron Keller and Pastor Richard Brooks, presiding. A private family interment will take place prior to the celebration at Eastside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hutchinson Soup Kitchen and left in care of the funeral home.
