On Tuesday, April 26,2022, Ida Mae ( Hooker) Gisick, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 95 years young.

Ida was born on August 16,1926, on the family farm Northwest of Plevna, Kansas, to become the 6th child of 8 children born to George Henry and Letha Caroline ( Hunt) Hooker.  She was delivered by Doctor Horton.

She attended Hazen Grade School, transferred to Plevna Grade School and graduated from Plevna High School to complete her education.

Ida Mae's older brother, Charles, introduced her to his friend Gene K. Gisick.  The two of them were married November 8, 1947, at the First Presbyterian Church in Hutchinson, Kansas.  This strong union produced 5 children:  Tom, Marty, Scott, Mary, and Susan.  Gene and Ida Mae were blessed with 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many honorary grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ida is survived by sons Tom (Carol), Marty ( Rhonda), Scott ( Janet) and daughters Mary ( Andy) and Susan, and two sisters Marie and Fern.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, brothers Charles, John and George Jr., sisters Frances and Myrtle, granddaughter Stefanie, daughter-in-law Debbie, and son-in-law John Palmatier.

Viewing will be Friday, May 6, 2022, from 4-8 pm at Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, 528 North Main Street, Hutchinson, Kansas 67501 with the family present from 6-8 pm.

Service will be at 10:00 am., Saturday May 7, 2022, at the same location with Pastor Tim Yates officiating.  Her final resting place will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd, Hutchinson, Kansas alongside her husband Gene.

Memorials can be sent to The American Diabetes Association, The American Heart Association or to Moose International in care of the funeral home.
