Obituary

Jackie " Jack "  Dean Bass was born April 3, 1960 to Jack and Betty Bass.  Jack fulfilled his life through his passions of driving big rigs, building truck models, and art.  Jack successfully bought his first semi at the ripe young age of 18.  Jack met Lori Savage and had their first child Brian Bass ( Michelle ), Colwich, Kansas, in 1981.  Jack and Lori got married in 1983 and continued having children: Brandon Bass ( Samantha ), Dodge City, Kansas, Loren Bass, Hutchinson, Kansas, Jayson Bass ( Janesa ), Wichita, Kansas, and Chanun Bass, Hutchinson, Kansas.  Jack also had a plethora of grandchildren.  Jack took trucking jobs all over the country, and he took his kids every chance he got.  These trips left everlasting memories with his kids from coast to coast.  Jack even made it as far as Canada and Mexico.  Jack moved around and eventually found himself back in Hutchinson.  He was a ray of sunshine that was guaranteed to make an impact on every individual he encountered.  Jack will be forever known for his sense of humor and being able to lighten up any situation.  Jack passed away February 18, 2020 in Clearwater, Kansas from natural causes.  Jack's celebration of life will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Homebuilder's Shelter in Carey Park in Hutchinson, Kansas for a lunch from 1 to 3.  In true Jack form, he didn't want a service but a party !

The Trucker's last Ride:

He traveled the roads                                                                                                                                                                                      In years gone past                                                                                                                                                                                          A life he chose                                                                                                                                                                                                And hoped it would last

Driving all night                                                                                                                                                                                              From state to state                                                                                                                                                                                        Trying to get home                                                                                                                                                                                        And arriving so late

He parked his truck now                                                                                                                                                                                  His engine has stopped                                                                                                                                                                                  And those who love him                                                                                                                                                                                  Their hearts have dropped

He traveled the country                                                                                                                                                                                  With a smile of great pride                                                                                                                                                                              Now he drives the streets of Heaven                                                                                                                                                                On the trucker's last ride

May God ride with you                                                                                                                                                                                    10-4 and goodbye
