Jannie Mae ( Fielding ) King went home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2019. she was 71.
She was born June 30, 1948 to Lois Mae ( Gilleland ) Fielding and Robert Luther Fielding in Los Angeles, CA.
Jannie grew up in Pomona, CA, and when she was in elementary school, her family lived on San Antonio Avenue next to Victor's Flowers. She would stop by at the end of the day and pick up the leftover flowers. She loved to arrange them and give them to her sisters. This was the beginning of her natural talent and evidence of creativity that she would develop over the years. Her hobbies included ceramics, painting, and beadwork ( jewelry). In addition to her hobbies, she thoroughly loved to cook for her family and had a genuine heart for hospitality.
The greatest joy in her life is when she met and married Joseph Edward King. They were married in Los Angeles, CA on March 10, 1964. They moved from California to Kansas since Joseph grew up in Kansas. However, she was always a California girl at heart. One of the things she missed the most was the Avocado trees! Their love and devotion to one another was evident throughout their life together. Jannie was a committed wife, friend, and caregiver to Joseph up until he went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lois Fielding.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Alana Diane Powers, Hutchinson, KS; grandson, Joseph L. Powers and his wife Sarah, Hutchinson, KS; and her sisters, Martha Gail Boone, Alta Lima, CA; Wanda Lois Fielding, Lewisville, TX; Pearl Dean Jackson, Chino, CA; Roberta Sue Little, Lewisville,TX; Sherry Yvonne Smith, Waco, TX, and several nieces and nephews throughout the United States.
The cremation has taken place and was handled through Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home in Hutchinson, KS. Please leave personal condolences for the family.
