John W. Riead, 66, passed away peacefully at his home in Burrton, Kansas, March 16, 2017. A native of Hutchinson, Kansas, he was born April 8, 1950, the son of Nace and Naomi Riead.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping. John always had a "project" that he would "tinker" with while listening to the song about him "Big Bad John" by Jimmy Dean. He loved his family and always had the opposite opinion of them regardless whether he was right or wrong - he always made them think.
He married Debra Kay Easter on May 17, 1969 in Hutchinson, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include 1 son, John W. Riead, III, 2 daughters, Dyan (Jeremy)Lanning, Lynelle (Jorge)Fernandez; 1 brother, Gary (Sherlene)Pinkston; 1 sister, Janis Crank; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 grandchildren, Jermain and Alexandria.
Friends may sign the book from 1:00 - 6:00 on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the home of Lynelle and Jorge Fernandez. Burial will take place in Burrton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice and left in care of the funeral home.
