Juan Reyna, 85, of Hutchinson, KS, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, surrounded by family at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

He was born on September 23, 1939, in Chicago, IL, the son of Arcadio and Paula (Muñoz) Reyna. He was one of eight children; Salvador, Gabriel, Alfredo, Richard, Julian, Roberto, and Belen. On July 15, 1982, he was united in marriage to Yolanda Rios at the Cook County Court House.  This union was blessed with two children, Cristine Paula and Yolanda.

Juan was a true patriot that loved his country. He was a seaman in the U.S. Merchant Marines and transported supplies and ammunitions during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed telling stories about his life and giving you life lessons even when you didn't want any. He was not afraid to speak his mind. He loved his grandchildren and had a soft spot for all the family dogs.

Survivors include his loving wife Yolanda Reyna, Hutchinson; two daughters, Cristine (Reyna) Vieyra, Hutchinson, Yolanda Reyna, Hutchinson; six grandchildren, Alec Alvidrez, Olivia Alvidrez, Ava Vieyra, Vida Vieyra, Hines Vieyra, and Major Vieyra, all of Hutchinson; brother, Salvador Reyna.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gabriel Reyna, Alfredo Reyna, Richard Reyna, Julian Reyna, Roberto Reyna, and sister, Belen Reyna.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
