Karen Sue Thompson, 70, passed away January 23, 2018 at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born in Pratt, Kansas on July 28, 1947, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hatcher. She was a retired medical aide for Diversicare Health and Rehabilitation, formerly known as Golden Plains, Hutchinson, Kansas.

Taking care of her family and friends was the most important part of her life. She loved old fashioned country music and in earlier years was the life of the party with her ability to two step with the best of them.

On July 28, 2004 she married Thomas M. Thompson in Pratt, Kansas. He survives.

Other survivors include 2 sons, Darrin D. (Casie) and John D. Schissler; 1 sister, Linda Hatcher; 8 grandchildren, and, 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 daughters, 2 sisters, and, 3 brothers.

Per her request cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to Old Mission – Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas.
