Obituary

Karla K (Reece) Porter was born in Holbrook, AZ on January 13, 1968 to William H. Reece and Linda M. (Pedigo) Reece. She died at her home in Hutchinson, KS on May 18, 2026.

She graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1986 and later got her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Chamberlain University.

Karla’s hobbies and interests include engraving wood and glass, making wind chimes with beads, keys, and any other parts she had laying around.

She also had many other hobbies like sewing, scrapbooking, or any other crafts she could think of. She loved to make homemade gifts and always had endless projects partially finished.

She loved animals and rescued many cats over the years.

Karla is survived by: mother, Linda Reece of Hutchinson, KS; sister, Sharon K (Reece) Hajj (Wadih Hajj) of Douglassville, PA; son, John Crane (Abby Crane) and grandchildren, Taton and Rhea, of Hutchinson, KS; daughter, Taylor (Crane) Lightcap (Ryan Lightcap) and grandchildren, Kaeden and Scarlet, of Pottstown, PA; niece, Magen (Hajj) Plageman (Kevin Plageman) of Pottstown, PA; and nephew, Alexander Hajj of Douglassville, PA.

She is preceded in death by William Reece.

Memorial will be held at Old Mission Heritage in Hutchinson, Kansas on June 9th at 3 p.m.
