Kenneth R. Marcum, 92, passed away May 12, 2017 at Diversicare of Hutchinson in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born in Winfield, Kansas on April 13, 1925, the son of Arthur and Matilda Marcum. He was a retired manufacturing operator of Kansas Oxygen after 38 years of dedicated service.
A graduate of Hutchinson High School he also attended Salt City Business College. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He dedicated himself to working in his yard and gardens, but, would not say no to helping his family and friends when needed. He loved his family and friends more than anything.
He married the love of his life, Ardith Annie Spillman in Hutchinson, Kansas on November 25, 1948. She survives.
Other survivors include 4 sons, Ronald (Annie Lou), Craig (Janice), Shawn (Mikelle), and, Jason (Katie) Marcum; 2 daughters, Sherry Smith and Lorrie (Stanley) Ray; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 1 sister, and, a son in law, Robert.
Per his request cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date with military honors at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, Kansas. The family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and may be left in care of Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas.
