Larry Don Wisehart, 83, of Russell passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at Wheatland Nursing Center with family by his side.

Born July 11, 1940 in Great Bend, Ks to Clarence and Celesta Wisehart. He married Dixie Lea Cochran on March 25, 1961 in Great Bend. Larry and Dixie went on to have three sons, Lonnie, Todd, and Jeff. He later married Marcella Mildred Blakey on April 3, 1997 in Larned.

He had been a resident of the Lyons area for 37 years after moving from North Platte, Neb. He moved to Russell in 2021.

He made a career working at North American Salt Co from 1984-2017, retiring at the age of 77. Prior to that he was employed by Pepsi for more than 20 years in Nebraska.

Larry was a humble, loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was known for his delicious homemade barbecue sauce, and dropping off food and gifts for family as a surprise when they weren't home. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends working on cars and drag racing. He even brought home a few drag racing trophies himself.

He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law Lonnie and Marci of Lincoln Neb, Jeff and Lori Wisehart of Russell, six grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, son Todd (11/30/1984), wife Dixie (12/06/1995), and wife Marcella (12/272017).

Larry requested no services. A private burial will be held with immediate family at a later date.
