Laura Lee Dorey, 17, gained her heavenly wings March 3, 2018 near Haven, Kansas. The daughter of Lee and Eva Dorey, she was born January 2, 2001 in Newton, Kansas. She was a student at Haven High School.

She was a budding musician and had the ability to play the guitar, saxophone, and tuba. A green belt in Tae-Kwon-Do, she also loved animals, especially her horse, Magic, 4 cats, (Blackie, Blanche, Blitz, and Bruno,) and 1 dog, Betty. She ran cross country for Haven High School and worked feverishly on her computer.

She is survived by her parents; 4 brothers, Edward Dorey, Harlan Dorey, Jonathan Dorey,  and Kevin Cobden; 3 sisters, Leah Young, Savannah Young, and Angie Young. She was preceded in death by her uncle, Rex Downs.

A celebration of Laura's life will be Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, 11303 E. Longview Road , Burrton , Kansas . In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Reins of Hope, Reno County Animal Shelter, or the Haven High School Music Department.
