Leonard Chris Swan went home to the Lord on Feb. 10, 2026.

He was born May 10, 1961, in Hutchinson to Leonard Faye Swan and Shirley (Tomlin) Swan. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in May 1979. In September 1979, he entered basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and was honorably discharged in December 1981.

Chris's greatest joy was being a dad and papa. He especially loved creating stained glass and made many pieces for family members over the years.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Swan; children, Amanda Bailey (Wes) and Leonard William Swan (Megan); grandchildren, Trenton Bailey, Lakin Swan, Zoey Swan and Finnley Swan; sisters, Marsha Mattox (Ernie), Susan Kauffman (Larry), Debbie Gideon-Long (Mark) and Tammy Clark (James); honorary sister, Vicki Mitchell; uncle, Amos Tomlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Faye Swan, brother Gary Gideon and grandson, Leonard Finn Swan.

A celebration of life will be held May 30, 2026. Time and location will be announced at a later date.
