Leonard Eugene Wallsten, born November 24, 1937, in Hutchinson, KS, passed away peacefully October 5, 2023 in Buhler, Kansas.
Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Minnie Wallsten, daughter, Judith Ann Lazenby, and sister, Marilyn Avery.
He is survived by his son, Mike (Jean Ann) Wallsten, daughter, Deanna Cook, brother, Jim (Mary) Wallsten, grandchildren, Billy (Jackie) Lazenby, Ashley (Ray) Lazenby, Valerie (Kyle) Osborn, Caleb (Maddie) Cook, 9 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Leonard was a lifelong resident of Hutchinson, Kansas. He served in the army for many years, becoming a welder foreman at Farmland after discharging. He started his own trucking company in 1972, where he stayed until retirement.
Leonard was an avid gardener and loved being outside. He was quiet, but always hard working. Leonard enjoyed spending time with his family, including his pets, and spoiling grandkids.
A funeral service will be held at Old Mission Heritage Funeral home in Hutchinson, KS, Friday, October 13, 2023. Viewing at 12:00pm, funeral service at 1:00pm with a graveside service to follow at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
