Lucy Melvin White, was born May 16, 1934 to Ruben Murray and Mary Elizabeth (Long) Murray in Pratt, Kansas. She passed away in Hutchinson, Kansas, July 14, 2023.
Lucy, or Mel, as she preferred, was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Mary, brothers, Bud Murray, James Murray, and Virgil Murray, her sister, Mary Ann Rojas, husband, Leslie G White, daughter, Cindy Dick, and son, Gordon Lee White.
Mel is survived by her daughter Becky (Mike) White, and son, James (Shelly) White, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Mel was a voracious reader and could always be found with her nose in a book. She also enjoyed crochet, needle point, and crossword puzzles.
Lucy Mel White was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She will remain in our hearts forever.
A funeral service will take place Thursday, July 20th at 1:30pm, Old Mission Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N Main St, Hutchinson, KS, officiated by Minister Wayne DeWindt of Eastwood Church of Christ.
