Maria (Mary) Elvira (Vera) Hernandez passed away peacefully at Hospice House of Reno County on Tuesday, December 03, 2013. Maria was one of six children to Paublin and Paula (Rodriguez) Juarez. She was born January 24, 1922 in Hutchinson, KS. She married Eleodoro Hernandez September 29, 1944. He died July 4, 1998. Maria was a devoted and loving mother to their two sons Rodolfo S. (Margo) Hernandez of Hutchinson and Alfonso Hernandez of Hutchinson.

She is survived by three grandchildren Curtis (Donna) Hernandez, Bel Aire, Ks; Kimberly (Mike) Hill, Garden City, KS; Traci Hernandez, Roeland Park, KS. Six great-grandchildren Adam Hernandez and Ashley Hernandez, Bel Aire, KS: Brayden Hill and James Hill, Garden City, KS; Atticus Hernandez and Dulcinea Hernandez, Roeland Park, KS. One sister, Carolina Calvillo, Casa Grande, AZ; two brothers: Joe (Consuelo) Juarez, Hutchinson, KS and Vincent (Sally) Juarez, Denver, CO. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and god-children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers John Juarez and Richard Juarez.

Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Old Mission- Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N Main, Hutchinson.

Rosary will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 followed by funeral service at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ned Blick Officiating. Cremation to take place after funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Catholic Ministry to Hospice House, make checks payable to Holy Cross Catholic Church (write in memo "Ministry to Hospice House") and left in care of the funeral home.
