Marjorie A. Reed, 89, of South Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away March 23, 2019 surrounded by her loving family in South Hutchinson, Kansas.  She was born on August 2, 1929 near Bushton, Kansas to Winslow and Marie ( Voss) Novotny.  She was a dedicated homemaker.

She married Clarence Lee Reed on July 30, 1949 at Ellsworth, Kansas.  Together they lived in South Hutchinson, Kansas for most of their 70 years of marriage.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Lee;  1 daughter, Diana ( Larry ) Dester of Hutchinson, Kansas; 1 granddaughter, Jennifer ( Marty ) Schwindt; 2 great grandsons, Jacob and Daniel Schwindt, all of Springfield, Missouri; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Homes of South Hutchinson, Kansas, Dorothy Eisiminger of Hutchinson, Kansas; 1 brother in law, Ron ( Judy) Reed of Visalia, California, 2 sisters in law, Shirley Reed of Seattle, Washington, Judy Novotny of Russell, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers and many other family members.

A graveside celebration of life will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairlawn Burial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2401 Carey Boulevard with a reception to follow at the American Legion, 730 W. 4th, Hutchinson, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Reno County Veterans Memorial in South Hutchinson, Kansas and may be left in care of Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas.
