Martha Louise (Daniel) Howe, 81, passed away at Mennonite Manor in South Hutchinson, Kansas on November 15, 2011. Born in Swink, Colorado, Martha spent most of her adult life in Oklahoma, primarily Tulsa and Claremore. She was raised in the Northeast corner of Oklahoma, mostly in or near Picher, Commerce and Miami. The family also spent some time in the Southeast portion of Kansas, near her mother''s family. The second oldest child of Alfred Sr. and Elma Daniel, she was a good mother and home-maker, and she worked as a flower shop owner, waitress, cake decorator, munitions builder, secretary, real estate agent, and deli attendant. Her hobbies included painting, sewing, reading and gardening. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Sr. and Elma Daniel, her older sister, Wanda Surridge, a baby brother and her grandson, Steffan. She is survived by two sons, Ronald Howe and wife Betty, Daniel Howe and wife Janice, three brothers, Alfred "Bud" and Marie Daniel Jr., Chester "Sonny" Daniel, Wilburn "Jack" Daniel, three sisters, Elma "Maxine" Easter, Leona I. and Carl Dauber, Delana "Marie" and Owen Russell, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, plus a host of friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at New Hope Baptist Church, 4815 East 4th St. in Hutchinson, Kansas. The family will be having a dinner in the Church Fellowship Hall beginning at 12 Noon. There will be a viewing from 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Friday, November 18 at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mennonite Manor Nursing Facility.
