Obituary

Marvin L. Huxman, 91, passed away January 26, 2014 at Hospice House of Reno County, Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born November 25, 1922 in Pretty Prairie, Kansas, the son of Albert and Lydia Huxman.

He attended local area schools up through the 11th grade when he made the decision to serve his country during World War II as a member of the 13th Airborne Division of the United States Army. After completing his duty he returned to Hutchinson and went to work for Morton Salt Company and served as machine operator for 35 years before retiring. He was a master fisherman, loved working on his rentals, and taking long walks everyday.

He married Irene Fick Richardson in Hutchinson, Kansas. She died February 28, 1998. He is survived by a daughter, Connie Graves of Hutchinson, Ks; a brother Alvin Huxman (Arlene) of Pretty Prairie, Ks; a grand daughter, Deborah Deiter of Wichita, Ks; a great grandson, Grant Deiter of Wichita, Ks. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Public visitation will be Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. at Old Mission - Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Ks. Memorial service will be held Friday, January 31, 2014 at the funeral home 10:30 am. Interment will follow the service at Fairlawn Burial Park. The family has established a memorial fund to Hospice House of Reno County and may be left in care of the funeral home.
