Mary M. Alaya, 77, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away on April 29,2019, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas.
A native of Hutchinson, Kansas.  She was born May 18, 1941, the daughter of Frank and Ramona Chavez.  She was a dedicated homemaker to her family.

She had been a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, and also attended Eastwood Church of Christ, was a volunteer at Good Samaritan Village, and loved to go shopping, play bingo, and cook for her family.

She is survived by 1 son, Jim ( Patricia) Ayala; 2 daughters, Tony Chavez and Christine Mashburn;  1 brother, Mark Chavez; 2 sisters, Mercedes Logue and Jessie Crook; 25 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Ayala, 1 daughter, Juanita Elizabeth Ayala, 3 brothers, John, Philip, and Frank Chavez, 2 sisters, Teresa and Delores Chavez, and 1 son in law, Howard Ray Mashburn.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, may 3, 2019 at 11:00 am.  At Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Plum, Hutchinson, Kansas.  In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mary M. Ayala Family Memorial Fund and left in care of the church.
