Maxine Ruth Hedger passed away September 27, 2023, with her heavenly family's open arms ready to welcome her home. She passed at the Life Care Center in Burlington, Kansas.
She was born February 19, 1949, to William Burdette Stowell and Lois Irene Christie Stowell, in Kingman, Kansas. Together with her family, Ruth lived all over Kansas but grew up in the Hutchinson area. Ruth worked for many years at Lowen Signs and Gregory Inc. She always had a passion for animals and loved spending time with them. She rode horseback and loved to go to Medicine Lodge with her horse Ted for trail rides. She also spent quality time with her Australian shepherds, Gracie and Lacie.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Melvin Stowell of Hutch, Lyle Stowell of Burrton, Bill Stowell of Hutch, sisters, Kathy McIver of Hutch, Carol Blevins of Wichita, Nadine Frye of Hutch, Irene Stowell of Hutch, Naomi Weiss of Lebo and Judy Stowell of Lebo.
She is survived by her brothers, Rick Stowell (Angie Burdette) of Hutchinson, Robert Stowell of Chino Valley, Arizona, sisters, Joyce (Don) Weinbrenner of Hillsboro, Loma (Lonnie) Seachris of Buhler, Wilma (John) Winn of Lebo, Karen Lackey of Hutch, Helen (Dave) Ediger of Buhler, Debbie (Tony) Botkin of Lebo, and ex-husband, Bill Hedger.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Alpine Cemetery in Olivet, KS, at 10:15.
