Melissa Nelson, 40, passed away on April 16, 2021 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas.  She was born on September 25, 1980 in Newton, Kansas.  The daughter of Marsha Bucannon of Hutchinson, Kansas.  Melissa graduated from McPherson High School in 2000.  She worked at Clayworks making different things with clay.  She enjoyed being with her friends and doing crafts in her spare time.

Survivors include:  her mother, Marsha Bucannon of Hutchinson, Kansas; her aunt Kathy of Livonia, Michigan, and cousins from Texas.

Melissa was preceded in death by: her grandparents and uncles.

A service of remembrance will be held April 22, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, 528 North Main Street, Hutchinson, Kansas.
