A. Melvin Valentine, 71, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home in Hutchinson on Oct. 29, 2016. A retired commercial printer, he was born on March 22, 1945, in Syracuse, Kan., the son of Harold and Gladys Valentine.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rebecca; two sons, Darrin (Terri) Valentine of Springfield, Missouri, Matthew McElheny of Hutchinson; three daughters, Darcy (Galen) Headings of Hutchinson; Melanie Valentine of Hutchinson; Melissa Valentine of Nickerson; one sister, Penny Welborn of Houston, Texas; one brother, Ralph Valentine of Amarillo, Texas; eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers.

Per his request, cremation has taken place and there will be no celebration of life at this time. Old Mission-Heritage Funeral Home, Hutchinson, Kansas is in charge of arrangements.
